Hot Opera

Contributed by Emma Callin

Last Thursday we went to the opening night of Gilbert & Sullivan's The Mikado at Opera in the Village.  Given that the production was staged in an outdoor tent without air conditioning and the temperature was 30+ degrees, my sister and I opted not to wear trousers - dresses and skirts were definitely called for that evening!

Recently I've been wearing a lot of monochrome outfits with pops of red, so no surprise that I chose to dress up my favourite black Slak tee.  My sister, Ying, wore her favourite Miik dress - you may remember her wearing it in Poland with the v-neck in the front instead.

Emma: Slak tee, Anthropologie skirt, Arnold Churgin shoes, Swarovski necklace (all old).
Ying: Miik dress, Keen sandals, dconstruct necklace, Apple watch.

Both of us went with brightly coloured shoes!  Must run in the family... ^_~*  Hers are perfect for cycling too (more on bicycle-friendly sustainable fashion soon).

It was a magnificent evening for a wonderfully hilarious show!  We highly recommend checking out other showings of Opera in the Village - stop by the Simmons Building before the show for excellent food and drink while you're at it.
